Now I Know…

SZ Home. Me and MAN found our new fav pastime. Cooking. It’s fun but expensive. We bought a lot of kitchen utensils, ingredients and an oven. Our kitchen has evolved from an empty one to well equipped, and our pockets is the other way round.

When I was a kid, I used to tell people I dislike that I’m gonna throw rotten egg at them. But never in my mind how bad a rotten egg can be. I can only imagine how sticky and yucky if the egg splattered all over the body, but not the smell.

Yesterday, I went to the mini market as usual to get some groceries. I grabbed the pack of 8 eggs that I think has the biggest egg and straight to the cashier counter. I didn’t ask for a carrier bag since only one item and I can carry it, furthermore, a bag cost me 20cents each. Me and MAN chitchatting while walking back home and we suddenly smell something unusual, something smells like “belacan”, but that couldn’t be since this prawn paste is not something easily found in SZ, hmmm… maybe someone went traveling in Malaysia and brought back, so we didn’t fuss about it.

Upon arriving at home, the smell is getting stronger and we suspect the smell is coming from somewhere in the house, I sniffed here and there but couldn’t get, the smell is very close but we have no idea where it exactly from. Finally when I check the eggs, the stench burst out, SHIT, that smells like shit. I quickly throw the whole pack into a plastic bag and MAN help to bring it to mini market for exchange. And I start to prepare for our dinner. I let the door and windows open for better circulation to reduce the stench. The smell remains even after dinner so I decided to take a bath and throw the clothes I wore into washing machine. The bad smell still there even after bath, a little lighter though.

I blow dry my hair as usual and I can feel the rotten egg smell still around, it is very near, I sniffed, there.. it’s my hand, my left hand that hold the eggs, fml. MAN suggested to get lemon to wash my hand and hopefully can remove the stench with the lemon juice. Lemon did help a bit but the smell still there. We try dettol, it covers the smell for a while but not really work. So I try to scrub the lemon on my palm and hoping the zest of peel work at its best. I finally let my left hand alone after spraying my Hugo Women perfume on it.

It’s over 24 hours now, I can still smell a bit of the rotten egg stench on my palm, I am not sure whether it is really there or it’s just my instinct.
