Good Timing.

thought ~ … …
I once remember someone impressed when I mentioned I setup my own wireless network at home myself. I got the modem, bought the router and done everything my own. The set up is straight forward. My sisters and brother never need to worry about the internet connection whenever I’m around.
Before I leave for SZ, I kept wanted my sister to learn on the setup, but nothing was done at the end. I thought the connection was pretty much stable for over months so I shouldn’t worry.
My mum took over my 7 year-old car, the car got a re-spray, it doesn’t look brand new but definitely smarter. I remember the last time I replace the battery was more than 2 years, but the foreman told me it’s still working fine.
Yes, everything worked well when I wasn’t around.
The 2nd day when we were out for shopping, we chatted about everything and mentioned the car battery unintentionally, and I thought it’s about time to replace, but hey, it’s still working fine.
The next early morning, I get prepared and ready to go out to meet up with MAN, the car unlocked when I pressed on the remote control, so I went on to start the car, but all I heard was “eeheeekkheeekk… eehheeekkheekkk..” then the car died and the alarm went on. The battery failed to work.
3 days after the incident, I was at home trying to use the modem to dial up a connection, I was preparing myself for the following week that I will be working from home, I thought dial up directly should get a more stable connection and bypass the wiresless router. The modem was working fine before I unplugged the adapter, but it just didn’t come back up after I plugged it back again. The 2nd stuff that died on me.
Last Sunday evening, while playing mahjong at home, it was raining outside and the cold breeze was really relaxing. Suddenly, everything blacked out, there was short circuit causing the power outage. When it recovered, I couldn’t seem to get connected to my wireless network, after some troubleshooting, the device was certified of death.
All the stuffs picked the right timing to die down. My mum said, those devices don’t want them to spend money, therefore, they died after I came back so that I can pay for it to get replacement. Arhhh… Everything happens in just 2 weeks and my pocket hurts.

Money saving tips.
Firstly you can check if your car battery water is empty or not. If it is empty, you can take it out, add more juices and bring it to the mechanic to recharge it. All for less than RM20.
Most of the time, when power trip, the DC power supply adapters get burned, you can get replacement if you bring it to shop like Thye Huat. Easy RM20 bucks fix but if there is burnt smell coming from the modem unit, then it is pronounced dead.

moomookun: My battery is maintenance-free type, so no choice. And for the modem, since it’s still under warranty, Uncle Dan helped to get a replacement.
Dan: Dan, my battery spoil liao…
Sasi: Shhhh…How can you announce this publicly?
mh: Who knows if this is true…
