Life Is Like A Dream.

location~ Home Sweet Home
thought~ Heard from radio that Jacky’s last 2 shows in HK was canceled due to unwell. Real sad for him, performed for 16 nights continuous. The concert was really great, anyone got free ticket to Jacky’s concert in Malaysia? Hehe.

2007-08-25 Saturday

The journey from Penang to KL and finally landed at HKIA, MAN welcomed me with a warm hug, and my pre-ordered mango ice blended. Thank you my dear. We checked in at hotel in Causeway Bay, took dinner and rushed to Hong Kong Coliseum for Jacky’s concert.

We were shocked when reach at Coliseum, there was only a few people and we thought we were late. After checking with a few security guards there, only found out we were actually too early, but it was already 7.50pm and the show supposed to start at 8pm. Few minutes waiting, we finally allowed to enter the coliseum, it is huge. There wasn’t a lot of people upon entering the hall, but sooner, all the seats were filled. It was only like…15mins? The culture in HK is way too different from us, an interesting experience.

There was many uncles and aunties selling glow sticks and neon light sticks in front of the entrance, but me and MAN thought we would just want to sit down and watch the performance, so we didn’t bother to buy one. Surprisingly, we found there was neon light stick on our seat, and we looked around, every seat had one. Later on during the performance, Jacky said it was courtesy of the organizer. At first, he was jokingly said it was the left over from the previous night which was the celebration 50th concert of the tour. A humorous and down to earth Jacky.

Medley of his dance song kicked off the concert, he dance and sweat a lot, he looks really sexy. He kept calling himself a 23+23 man, he is 46 this year. He started his artist career at 23, and he has been singing for 23 years. To both me and MAN, we felt the performance very much like a friend, telling the story of himself, his family, how the daughter whined to him for not dedicated a song to her and the story behind the songs that he composed and recorded in his Life Is Like A Dream album.

There was a few run down for the concert, dance song medley, sentimental, rock, musical, and classic songs of Jacky. His sentimental songs melt my heart as usual, but watching him singing in live even more tempted, I almost cry. His rock performance was on a lifted stage about 2 meters high, and the stage actually rocked, he kept dancing and spinning on the limited space stage, I was holding my breath and pray for him. The musical was a combination of his previous musical Snow Wolf Lake and the movie Perhaps Love, his low-pitched vocal in musical attracted everyone’s attention. When come to classic songs, everyone joined Jacky and sing along, it was like a choir, an unrehearsed choir and yet end up so harmoniously. I love it so much.

Followed by the encore session as expected, I can feel his appreciation for his band and dancers, he could remember the name of every musician, from those who played for him for 10+ years, and those who joined him recently from Korea and Japan. How I wish I’m one of them. The concert ended with one of his remarkable song 祝福.

We headed to Lan Kwai Fong for an experience of the most hottest and trendiest night life in HK. I was feeling a bit out of place to be there in jeans and t-shirt. So many pretty gals and handsome guys there. Many pubs and restaurants along the streets. Many people dance on the street with a mug of beer in the hand, I enjoyed watching pretty people mingling among the crowd. We had some drinks and decided to call it a night.
